SILITEC Wettability Plus is a permanent hydrophilic treatment, also effective as an anti-fog coating.
It is a transparent, long-lasting plasma coating that increases the surface energy of materials.
This plasma treatment is suitable for a wide range of materials.
By reducing the contact angle with water droplets to around 20°, it ensures improved wettability, leading to faster drying and reduced micro-droplet formation, which helps prevent fogging
Customization of plasma coating
The same plasma treatment can be achieved using different process parameters.
To obtain an efficient and effective plasma treatment, various factors can be adjusted, including: type and percentage of precursor gases, stoichiometry, deposition rate, power delivery, bias values, vacuum levels, and more.
Features of SILITEC wettability plus
Thanks to its hydrophilic properties, SILITEC Wettability Plus enhances wettability on surfaces, making adhesion of glues and paints easier.
Higher surface tension also reduces the energy required for drying, as water spreads over a larger surface area, allowing it to evaporate more quickly.
This PECVD (Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition) treatment is performed at low temperatures and is highly cost-effective, making it compatible with most materials.
It enables painting or bonding on surfaces that would otherwise be non-adhesive.
After treatment, activated surfaces better accept adhesives and paints, and even materials that are normally incompatible with certain substances become paintable or bondable.
